# Super44 or Claude? What to use to run your café, pub or restaurant

> Super44 runs mostly on Anthropic's Claude models, so the difference is what the AI is plugged into: Claude starts with what you connect yourself, Super44 connects once to your till, Google profile, Instagram and rota.

## Key takeaways

- Super44 runs mostly on Anthropic's Claude models, so the choice is about the wiring: connect Claude to your till, reviews, socials and rota yourself, or have it wired for hospitality for £19 a month.
- Claude Pro costs £18 a month in the UK, or £15 a month billed annually, VAT included. Super44 Core costs £19 a month and Super44 Starter is free, with no card.
- Claude's small-business pack works with 37 partner connectors, and Square is the only hospitality till among them. Lightspeed, Epos Now, SumUp and orderbird are not on the list; Super44 connects whichever till you use.
- Claude does not generate photos or illustrations, though its small-business workflow drafts posts with on-brand graphics. Super44 turns your own photos into posts, Reels and short videos in your brand's style, taken from your Instagram and website, up to 10 videos a day on Core, and publishes them to Instagram and Google once you approve each one.
- Claude's Gmail connector is on every plan, including the £0 Free plan, and drafts and sends replies with your approval. Super44 uses your Gmail differently: it pulls in supplier invoices and checks them against your recipes.

For writing, reading a lease or thinking a decision through, Claude is excellent, and the free plan covers most of it. For running a café, pub or restaurant day to day, the question is what the AI can see, and that is where the two differ. **Super44 runs mostly on Anthropic's Claude models and costs £19 a month, against £18 for Claude Pro, but you connect your till, Google Business Profile, Instagram and rota to it once, and from then on the numbers and the jobs come to you without exporting anything.** With Claude you can build some of that yourself, connector by connector, where your tools have one.

**Super44 or Claude**

This guide is published by Super44, and Super44 is one of the two things it compares. Super44 is a multi-agent system that runs on a variety of AI models, mostly Anthropic's Claude, with Google's Gemini for images, video and voice calls. That makes Super44 a paying Anthropic customer; Anthropic had no say in what follows.

## Same model family, different plumbing

Because Super44 runs mostly on Claude models underneath, a café owner choosing between them is not choosing between a cleverer and a duller AI. **The difference is the wiring: Claude Pro starts empty and connects to what you add, while Super44 starts connected to the tools a venue already runs on.**

Think of it as the same chef in two kitchens. In one, you stock the fridge, plug in the oven and fetch the post before every service. In the other, the deliveries arrive overnight and the order sheet is waiting on the pass. Both cook well. Only one is ready at 8am without you.

## When Claude on its own is the right choice

If your AI jobs are mostly writing and reading, Claude is the right tool, and you may never need to pay for it. **Claude's free plan includes projects, memory, file analysis and connectors to Gmail, Google Calendar and Google Drive, so a lot of office work costs nothing.**

It is very good at the jobs that come in documents: checking a lease clause, summarising a supplier contract, turning notes into a job advert, rewriting a menu in better English or German. Upload a spreadsheet and it will chart your weekly takings and explain what moved. With the Gmail connector it reads your inbox, drafts replies and, with your approval for each one, sends them.

Claude Pro adds research across the web and your connected tools, Claude in Chrome, and scheduled tasks that run even when your computer is asleep. On top of that, Anthropic's Claude for Small Business pack brings 43 ready-made workflows. Anthropic describes the safety model plainly: "Every workflow starts in approval mode: Claude drafts and stages the work, and nothing sends, posts, or pays until you say so."

Pick Claude on its own if any of these describe you:

- You run a small venue on Square, sell online through Shopify, and are happy to spend an afternoon setting up connectors. Both are among the pack's partner connectors.
- Your hardest weekly job is paperwork and email rather than the till, the reviews or the rota.
- You enjoy building your own systems and already use a social scheduler and a rota tool that have Claude connectors.

## The same six jobs, done both ways

Four of the six jobs a venue repeats every week need you to export, upload, copy or add another account when you use Claude on its own. **With Super44 the connections fetch the data: you approve the results and supply the photos and invoices, and nothing needs exporting or uploading.**

| Job | With Claude | With Super44 |
|---|---|---|
| Yesterday's sales | Square has its own connector; other tills through Zapier or a connector Claude builds, where the till offers an integration, or by uploading exports | Read from your till every night, whatever till it is, and on your phone at 8am |
| A one-star Google review | Paste it in and copy Claude's draft into Google yourself, or route it through Zapier if you set that up | Drafted in your voice and posted from your Google account when you approve. On Core it can reply on its own once you have approved five |
| This week's Instagram post or Reel | Drafted with on-brand graphics through a design connector such as Canva, then scheduled through a tool such as Metricool on its own account | Made from your own photos into posts, Reels and short videos in your brand's style, taken from your Instagram and website, then published to Instagram once you approve each one |
| A dish that stopped paying | Upload invoices and recipes, then ask | Spotted from supplier invoices pulled from your Gmail, photographed or sent in the chat, against your saved recipes, with the affected dishes named |
| Next week's rota | Possible through Planday's early-access connector if you use Planday | Drafted in Super44 from your sales and opening hours; you publish it and it lands in your team's staff app |
| Knowing your business | Projects and memory hold what you tell it | Knows your menu, your numbers, your reviews and your team from the connected data |

Planday publishes a Claude connector that can create, assign and publish shifts, still labelled early access. If you already run Planday, that is a real option. If you do not, adopting a second rota tool to make Claude useful is a lot of setup for one job.

## What a connected assistant does with no prompting

The point of the wiring is that the work starts before you ask. **Every morning at 8, Super44 sends a short brief from your till: yesterday's sales against the same day last week, what stood out, and one or two things worth changing today.**

Then it carries on through the week. New Google reviews arrive with replies drafted in your voice, and approval comes first by design. At a Restaurant Online roundtable on AI, Mark Selby, co-founder of Wahaca, said that "I’d hesitate to let AI reply to a customer without a human sense-checking it." You approve Super44's drafts in a tap, and once you trust them you can let it answer on its own. Your own photos become a week of Instagram posts, Reels and Stories in your brand's style, taken from your Instagram and website, and are published from your account after you approve each one. Instagram publishing went live for Super44 merchants on 28 October 2026, and Google posts publish the same way. Supplier invoices are pulled from your Gmail, or you photograph them or send them in the chat, and they are read against your recipes, so a price rise is flagged with the dishes it hits.

The same assistant drafts next week's rota from your sales. At the same roundtable, Heath Ball, owner of The Red Lion & Sun, put the appeal simply:

> My managers would be very happy if the computer just created the rota.
>
> — [Heath Ball, owner, The Red Lion & Sun, Restaurant Online roundtable, May 2025](https://www.restaurantonline.co.uk/Article/2025/05/06/how-will-ai-change-hospitality/)

You publish the rota, and your team clocks in, swaps shifts and books leave in Super44's staff app. Plus, at £49 a month, adds team chat, opening and closing checklists and payroll exports. You chat with Super44 in the app, on the web or on WhatsApp; approvals happen in the app and on the web, and your team uses the staff app.

One example from our own merchants: a café and events venue in London thought it had a staffing problem. Super44 read the complaints in its reviews and cleared the team of it: the complaints traced to a small, under-trained gap rather than to bad employees.

## What setting Claude up for a venue involves

Claude can cover more of a venue's routine than a chat window suggests, but the work of wiring it is yours. **To match Super44's daily routine with Claude you need a paid plan from £15 a month, the small-business pack, a connector for each tool you use, and a scheduled task for each job you want done without asking.**

**Building a venue routine in Claude**

1. **Choose a paid plan:** Scheduled tasks and the small-business pack need Pro, Max, Team or Enterprise.
2. **Install Claude for Small Business:** Run the onboarding so Claude learns your business and suggests tools to connect.
3. **Connect your tools one by one:** Square for the till, or Zapier for another till that offers an integration; Gmail and Google Calendar; and any scheduler or rota tool you use.
4. **Schedule the jobs:** A Monday brief, a weekly review round-up, a stock check; each is its own task.
5. **Approve and maintain:** Work waits for your approval; check the connectors still run when a provider changes something.

*Steps from Anthropic's small-business plugin and scheduled-task documentation, October 2026.*

None of that is hard for someone who enjoys it, and Anthropic has added 27 integrations to the pack since it launched in May. The gap is the venue-specific part. Square is the only hospitality till among the pack's partner connectors, and the pack has no connector of its own that posts Google review replies or publishes to Instagram, so those run through Zapier or another tool's account. With Super44 the equivalent setup is connecting your till, your Google profile and Instagram once, and the routine starts once they are connected.

## What each one costs

On price, the two land within a pound of each other, and the free plans overlap more than you might expect. **Claude Pro costs £18 a month in the UK, or £15 a month billed annually, and Super44 Core costs £19 a month, both with VAT included.**

| Plan | Price in the UK | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Claude Free | £0 | Chat, projects, memory, file analysis, Google Workspace connectors |
| Claude Pro | £18 a month, or £15 a month billed annually (£180 up front) | Research, Claude in Chrome, scheduled tasks, the small-business pack |
| Claude Max | from £90 a month | Five or twenty times Pro's usage |
| Super44 Starter | £0, no card | Chat, review analysis, and your first three Google review replies, one Google post and one profile update |
| Super44 Core | £19 a month | Till connection, morning brief, review autopilot, Google and Instagram publishing, recipe costing, expenses, staff app |
| Super44 Plus | £49 a month | Everything in Core, plus accounting integrations, payroll exports, checklists, team chat and more videos each day |

Claude's price is not always the whole bill when you build the hospitality wiring yourself. Each connector runs on the provider's own account: Metricool's free plan covers up to 20 scheduled posts a month, and Planday's connector works inside a Planday account. Super44 sets itself the aim of adding around £500 a month to a venue's profit within about twelve weeks.

## Your data and your guests' data

Both companies let you keep your chats out of model training. **On Claude Free, Pro and Max, using your chats to improve Anthropic's models is a privacy setting you choose, Anthropic does not train on its commercial plans such as Team by default, and Super44 never uses your data to train AI models.**

A venue's data includes guests' names in reviews and staff hours in the rota. Super44 hosts your data in Frankfurt, in the EU, and is GDPR compliant. Whichever tool you use, keep personal data you do not need out of a chat, and use Claude's incognito chats for anything sensitive: Anthropic does not use those to improve Claude, even with model improvement switched on.

## Which should you pick?

The default for most single-site venues is to use both: Claude, free, for writing and paperwork, and Super44 for the till, the reviews, the socials and the rota. **If you only do one thing, pick by where your week goes: Claude if it goes on documents and email, Super44 if it goes on numbers, reviews, posts and shifts.**

**Claude, Super44, or both?** *(interactive decision helper in the web version)*

**Possible routes:**
- **What eats most of your week? — Email, contracts and paperwork:** Start with Claude. Claude Free covers writing and reading, and the Gmail connector handles email with your approval. Next move: Add Super44 Starter, free, the day reviews start piling up.
- **What eats most of your week? — Sales, reviews, posts and the rota → Is your till Square, and do you already use Metricool and Planday? — Yes to all three:** Claude can stretch to it. With Square, Metricool and Planday connected, Claude Pro and the small-business pack cover a lot of the routine. Next move: Budget an afternoon to set it up and a monthly check that it still runs.
- **What eats most of your week? — Sales, reviews, posts and the rota → Is your till Square, and do you already use Metricool and Planday? — No:** Super44 Core. Your till, Google profile, Instagram and rota connected for £19 a month, with a brief every morning at 8. Next move: Start on Starter, then connect your till.

Three cases where the default changes. A café that also runs a real online shop on Shopify should look hard at Claude's small-business pack, where Shopify and Square are both partner connectors. A group with several sites and someone to build and maintain the setup can go a long way with Claude: Anthropic's launch features Mothership Coffee Roasters, which runs six cafés in Las Vegas from one consolidated view in Claude. And if you are about to sign a lease, use Claude this week whatever else you decide.

For the other big general assistant, the comparison runs the same way: [Super44 or ChatGPT](/blog/super44-vs-chatgpt) covers what changes when the chat window is OpenAI's. [The AI tools worth using to run a restaurant](/blog/best-ai-tools-restaurant-owners) puts both alongside Gemini, Nory and the reporting already in your till, and [AI for cafés, pubs and restaurants](/blog/ai-for-hospitality) shows what any of them can do once it sees your own numbers.

## FAQ

### Can I just use Claude instead of Super44?

For writing, reading contracts and thinking a decision through, yes, and the free plan covers most of it. For running a venue day to day, Claude works from what you upload or connect, and its small-business pack has one hospitality till among its partner connectors, Square. Super44 costs £19 a month, a pound more than Claude Pro billed monthly, and reads any till every night, replies to Google reviews and publishes Instagram and Google posts once you approve them.

### Is Super44 built on Claude?

Super44 is a multi-agent system that runs on a variety of AI models, mostly Anthropic's Claude, with Google's Gemini for images, video and voice calls. What Super44 adds is the hospitality wiring: your till, Google Business Profile, Instagram, invoices and staff rota, plus a brief on your phone every morning at 8.

### Can Claude connect to my till?

If you use Square, yes: Square publishes a connector in Claude's directory for transaction, inventory and sales data. For other tills, Claude's small-business pack can link a till through Zapier or a connector it builds, if your till offers an integration it can reach; otherwise you upload exports. Super44 connects whichever till you use.

### Can Claude post to Instagram or my Google Business Profile?

Not on its own. Through a scheduler such as Metricool, which lists Instagram and Google Business Profile among its networks and works on its free plan with up to 20 scheduled posts a month, it can schedule posts. Super44 publishes to Instagram and your Google profile directly, after you approve each post.

### Is my data used to train AI?

On Claude Free, Pro and Max, whether your chats help improve Anthropic's models is a privacy setting you choose; on Team and other commercial plans Anthropic does not train on your inputs or outputs by default. Super44 never uses your data to train AI models.
